The Parish Council
The Parish Council is comprised of representatives of the main ministries and groups of the parish. Its purpose is to advise and work with the pastor in the areas of planning, policy and coordinating the parish activities and to ensure that the life of the parish reflects the mission of Jesus Elected members shall serve for a term of 2 years. No parishioner shall be eligible to serve more than 2 consecutive full terms. Any parishioner, in good standing , who is a baptized, confirmed and registered member of the parish , shall be eligible to serve on the council.
Liturgy Committee
The purpose of this committee is to plan and coordinate the liturgical needs of the parish. This committee works with the pastor to plan and prepare reverent and meaningful liturgies. Please contact the office for more information.
Hispanic Ministries
The Mission of the Hispanic commitee is to invite the hispainic parishioners to full participation in the life of the parish. The Hispanic committee is concerned with the spiritual and social needs of our Hispanic community. Along with Our Lady of the Lake offering Mass is Spanish every Saturday eveining at 7:30pm. Volunteers help with our Religious Education classes, baptismal, marriage and Quinceneara classes. If you are interested or have any questions please contact the offfice.
Ministry to the Sick
The mission of the committee for
Visitation of Sick and Shut-ins is to provide communion to those who are unable to attend mass. This ministry requires visits to hospitals, nursing homes and private residences, usually on Sunday. Individuals on this committee work with one other on a rotating schedule to visit the sick and shut– ins. The time commitment usually requires one hour per assignment. Training will be given to interested parishioners
Gift Shop
Join the gift shop team. Help others obtain materials to enhance their religious life. Work with other creative, dedicated and people oriented parishioners to help others to fill their need for religious articles, books and gifts. The gift shop is open before and after Mass.
Liturgical Ministries
Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, and Altar Servers work together in the service of the Liturgy. Lectors are to proclaim, not merely read, the Living Word to the assembly. Through them God speaks to the gathered faithful. The ministry is open to reliable, practicing Catholics who are registered parishioners and who love the Scripture. Training is required. Volunteers are needed for all masses. Eucharistic Ministers assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ and in the distribution of ashes on Ash Wednesday. This ministry is open to all who are practicing Catholics, registered parishioners and who love the Eucharist. Approval by the pastor and special training are required. Altar Servers assist the priest before, during and after the Holy Mass or liturgical service. Altar serving is open to responsible boys and girls from the 2nd grade through High School. Training is provided. Call the office for more information on these ministries and training dates.
Music Ministry
The purpose of the Music Ministry is to lead people closer to Christ through His great gift of music. The music ministry’s purpose is to provide music that enhances and is an integral part of the liturgy. It invites the assembly to praise and worship God in song and to become full, active participants in the liturgy. The choirs are open to all who like to sing or to play an instrument who will be faithful in attending practice sessions and the scheduled Masses. Call the office for more information.
Pro-Life Ministry
The purpose of the Pro-Life ministry is to promote and defend the sanctity of all human life and family life in our community and around the world according to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church through prayer, service and education. This is an important ministry for all people. If you are called to volunteer, please contact the office for more information.
Grief Support
The mission of the grief support group is to assist members of our parishes, through support and prayer, at the time of any loss in their lives.
Parish Library
The Parish library has been moved into the Children’s Chapel and is now open for browsing and check-out before and after each mass on the weekend as well as when the church is open during the week. It is a self check-out system with instructions posted on one of the library shelves. If you would like to keep the library neat and be trained to help people find books, please contact Cheryle Gallagher through the office.
Funeral Hospitality
We do offer the use of our Social Hall after all funerals. This ministry helps provide the family hospitality in the Social hall. This ministry helps with the setting up and cleaning up and provides on site assistance to the family. Volunteers are always needed for this ministry.
Recovery From Addiction Support Group
Are you struggling with addiction or know someone who is? Holy Mother Church has everything you need for recovery. This ministry is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from addition. RCIA - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
This ministry assists any person age 7 or older who is not baptized and seeks to be initiated in the Catholic faith through the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and Eucharist. Volunteers are welcome and training is provided.
Restorative Justice Ministry
This ministry seeks to bring hope and healing to those affected by crime: Victims and their families, the incarcerated and their families and to the whole community. Contact the Parish Office.
